The New Year is upon us. Three hundred sixty-five days waiting to be lived, surprises to be discovered, hopes and dreams to be realized.
I’ve enjoyed 2017. I’m reluctant to let it go. My debut novel, An Anchor On Her Heart, published, my second novel, Love Calls Her Home, will follow in March, and the third, A Kite On The Wind, will release in October.
It’s an odd feeling to finish 2017 as a published author after spending years, one year at a time, attending conference after conference, and meeting one editor after another, never knowing if any of my efforts would prevail.
But they did.
I’ve enjoyed my first book signing. I’ve been in gatherings where people clamored around me seeking my signature. I have my first book club appearance ahead of me. All activities I never dreamed would be mine.
For that reason I welcome 2018. I enter this year changed from the person I was last year, but not swayed from my commitment to God. I still praise Him for His faithfulness, knowing His mercies are new every morning. I’ve learned that God may be slow to answer, but He is never late. All things are possible in His time. Trusting Him is the path to true happiness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 says: Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
No matter how many books I write, or publish, or the paths those successes take me, nothing compares to the journey I’m walking with the great God of the universe.
Happy New Year
