We all know someone. . .
The sister who cares for her nieces and nephews while their mother recuperates from a serious illness.
The single teacher who bestows love and affection on her classroom of students.
The neighbor who opens her yard to the children next door to give their mother much needed respite.
The step-mother who gathers her new husband’s children around her and nurtures them as if they are her own.
Mother’s Day honors those women among us who are always there to give of themselves to children in their care, not just those who have borne a child.
All those who offer nurture have a special place in our lives and we honor them this weekend. When God made mothers he took special care.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you women. You know who you are.
